Systems Therapy

one-on-one, couples and families

Systems theory is a branch of psychotherapy that considers problems and obstacles people face to be relationship and pattern-based. This non-pathologizing approach is designed to help patients mobilize internal ressources and together, with the therapist, come up with ways to live more harmoniously.

Scientific studies show that family therapy is extremely effective in reducing cost of treatment and the use of pharmacology in many clinical situations including depression, schizophrenia, behavioral disorders, eating disorders and addiction.

In couples or family settings, the space I provide is meant to be safe, inclusive, and open, so that each person can express themselves and listen to others.

I also offer individual systems psychotherapy sessions, based on the same principals as family therapy but applied to a single person. Deeply inspired by Dr. Carl Jung, I might suggest dreamwork or active imagination to accompany the therapeutic process. I am also trained in several mind-body techniques that can be useful in certain situations (applied kinesiology, yoga nidrâ, pranayama techniques, Bach flower elixirs, etc).

Individual sessions take place every week or every two weeks.

Couples and family sessions are generally scheduled on a monthly basis.

Born and raised in the United States, my practice is bilingual: sessions can take place in English.
